Ce moyen de diffusion avait plus d’impact que n’importe quel autre outil de communication. 

Les journalistes eux, avaient besoin d’informations pertinentes et percutantes pour consolider leur lectorat. Ces derniers étant des représentants d’une information fiable, crédible et pertinente, il était donc naturel de faire appel à eux pour mettre en lumière certains sujets. 

L’utilité des relations presse

Les relations presse augmentent l’influence d’une entreprise, d’une collectivité ou d’une institution en développant de vrais liens de confiance avec les journalistes 

Les relations presse constituent l’ensemble des actions réalisées vis-à-vis de la presse pour obtenir des retombées médiatiques. Elles consistent à valoriser et diffuser régulièrement du contenu de qualité aux journalistes, c’est-à-dire des informations susceptibles d’intéresser leur audience (grand public ou professionnels). 

Pourquoi utiliser les relations presse ?

L’objectif est d’obtenir des retombées positives sur l’entreprise afin d’obtenir une crédibilité et une légitimité plus forte car l’article est écrit par un prescripteur de qualité : le journaliste. L’influence d’une entreprise est primordiale pour assurer son fonctionnement. Les relations presse sont le moyen par excellence d’y parvenir. 

Comment utiliser les relations presse ?

Il faut pour cela développer de bonnes relations avec les journalistes. Il faut savoir comment les aborder, ce qu’ils recherchent, comment les relancer, comment gérer les premières prises de contact… Pour être un bon attaché de presse, il faut non seulement travailler son relationnel mais aussi connaître parfaitement son sujet.  

Les trois impératifs pour des relations presse impactantes : 

1. Anticiper les sujets

L’anticipation des sujets permet de contacter les journalistes au moment le plus opportun, notamment au moment des choix des prochains sujets, arriver 1 jour avant le bouclage définitif d’un média n’est pas une très bonne idée. Il faut suivre les calendriers rédactionnels des médias et s’en servir pour décrocher son téléphone au moment opportun. 

2. Se constituer un bon réseau de journalistes

Avoir un bon réseau est la base même du métier. Il faut se constituer un réseau de rédactions à pouvoir contacter pour faire valoriser chaque actualité qui se présente. Les attachés de presse se constituent, au fil de leur carrière, ce que l’on nomme des “carnets d’adresses” ou des fichiers presse qu’il faut tenir à jour régulièrement. 

3. Effectuer une veille permanente des sujets publiés

Enfin, la veille permanente de l’environnement de votre entreprise permet de connaître les actualités ou les sujets que les journalistes traitent en ce moment. Cette veille pourra vous renseigner sur l’impact de vos diffusions ou vous donner des idées de sujets “complémentaires” en fonction des publications des rédactions.
